Application	Abscisic acid stimulates ethylene production and promotes fruit ripening, and it inhibits the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid and proteins. The physiological functions of abscisic acid are as follows: 1. Inhibit and promote growth. 2. Maintain bud and seed dormancy. 3. Promote the shedding of fruits and leaves. 4. Promote stomatal closure. 5. Affect flowering. 6. Influence differentiation.

Features:

1. Inhibit and promote growth. When the concentration of abscisic acid is applied externally, the growth of stems, hypocotyls, roots, germ sheaths or leaves is inhibited. When the concentration was low, it promoted the rooting and hypocotyl elongation of isolated cucumbers, accelerated the reproduction of duckweed, and stimulated the development of parthenocarpic seeds.

2. Maintain bud and seed dormancy. Dormancy is associated with the balance of gibberellin and abscisic acid in the body.

3. Promote the shedding of fruits and leaves.
4. Promote stomatal closure. Abscisic acid can quickly close the stomata, and it is not toxic to plants, making it a good anti-transpiration agent. A biological test method to test the concentration of abscisic acid is to float the epidermis of isolated leaves on the surface of various concentrations of abscisic acid solutions, and within a certain range, the degree of stomatal opening and closing is inversely proportional to the abscisic acid concentration.

5. Affect flowering. Under long daylight conditions, abscisic acid can dormancy the top buds of strawberries and blackberries and promote flowering.

6. Influence differentiation. Gibberellin can cause female cannabis plants to form male flowers, and this effect can be reversed by abscisic acid, but abscisic acid cannot cause male plants to form female flowers.
